Be still but not stagnate, a universe
exists in a moment well lived —
deep breaths, truth contemplated,
profound prayer in hushed surrender
to our Creator. The noises
of this loud existence
can overwhelm us,
but there is calm —
still as cool ponds, where life
thrives underneath;
still as vast space, light
and time only seem suspended;
still as sweet slumber, life
imagined through vivid dreams;
still as a kiss, passion fired
by a light brush of the lips;
still as our faith,
constant but not static;
growing and yet stable;
joy filling joy filling joy—
grace, perfect and complete,
God in us…
still.
May we take the time to be still before God in all of the moments. Still in the quiet moments, still in the exuberant moments, still in the tense moments, still in the uncertain moments, just to be still and know that He is God. We live in this linear existence, one moment behind, one moment that is, one moment that may be a continuation here, physical, bound on earth; or spiritual, free, lifted beyond the stars. It is in the “is” moment where life exists in abundance, where we thrive. I pray we all find ourselves present in the “is” of our life, accepting beauty, giving out, receiving in, still in knowing who we are in Him.
