Witness

Speak, act, be the hope

you long to see in others—

walk the talk, stay on the path,

be gentle and humble;

practice peace, always pursuing 

and building up relations along 

the way. Encourage as you go; 

melt into kindness, do good deeds,

forgive, be merciful; lean into

long-suffering. You are an attestant 

to the One you are reflecting,

a light upon this earth, loving 

as you are loved; setting 

self aside, adorned 

by God as a bride and called

Christ-follower, Christ-like,

justified; you are watched,

sifted, tried; you fall, you sin, 

you brush the dust off

from those who won’t listen.

Grieve when you experience loss,

mourn death, celebrate life,

demonstrate and deliver joy —

you are a witness, you are 

the walking, waking, breathing

church of Jesus the Christ,

our Adonai, Redeemer, King,

so go and live it!
