Psalm Searching

“The grasslands of the wilderness become a lush pasture  and the hillsides blossom with joy.”

— Psalm 65:12, NLT

The displeasure of my mood

suggests that I am in need

of a holiday — oh, to luxuriate

on warm, sea-side sand, my

heavy impression stamped

firmly in earth, full face

to the sun; or to walk quietly

in leaf-carpeted woods,

under the majesty of mighty

trees — just somewhere in

pleasant surroundings,

grounded and open

to meditations — psalm

searching creation

as You intended —

harmonious, faithful,

resting in sweet moments

of utter contentment.
