Soli Deo Gloria

All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ.

–Ephesians 1:3, NLT

If my soul could be set in staff,

the notes and rhythms

of my heart recorded just

when the stings of emotion

pull most taunt,

when my soul

could burst

from skin

 –when in that deep

humility of knowing

my place in God’s creation

as the magnitude

of His grace conducts me–

all would hear Bach’s

G-Major Cello Suite 1

with Casals playing solo

in some ancient stone

cathedral, the cool walls

carrying eternal echoes

to the welcoming

applause in the endless

reverberations

of space.
