If we could pull ourselves
out of our bone-weighted
bodies, away from our
masked faces
and sanitized skin,
and look down on
this strange year 2020,
what might that new
perspective give
to our spirit selves
not bound to a weariness
we drag behind us
like millstones? Maybe we
would remember the warm
welcome of kindness
and with gracious thanksgiving
count the blessings of living
a simple life.
