Enchanted

I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; marvelous are Your works, and that my soul knows very well. — Psalm 139:14, NKJV

It looked like green rain,

a driving pelt against

a lonely but steadfast flower

determined to hold its place.

The next frame held unicorn

tracks through a thick forest,

a dappling of light leading

the way through trunks

and tall grasses.  The final

snapshot was a lighted

chain of leaves around

a burled tree and beyond

an enchanting grove

of mysteries.

My imagination

ignites when I’m lost

inside my camera;

even in the space

of the tiniest garden,

my lens sees beyond

the literal into myriad

possibilities awaiting

in God’s good creation.
