“Oh, that men would give thanks to the Lord for His goodness, And for His wonderful works to the children of men!” — Psalm 107:31, NKJV
A gratitude must begin
with a humility in recognition
of the Giver of the gifts,
the Provider of our needs.
How does that thanksgiving
manifest? In words, prayers,
acts of kindness given back
into the world?
And are we sincere?
Sometimes the uttering
of a thank you is just
an automated response,
without thought,
a hollow display
with no real offering.
Let us instead recognize
our place with a beautiful
and submissive honoring
of our God who we love
because He first loved us.
