I feel as if we have met
the saturation point, no one
more thing can be added,
no grief, no illness, no tragedy,
no protest, no shortage —
we have reached the point
of not being able to hold
one more hard thing,
but this is life —
death and calamity
and everyday difficulties
are part of our day
to day, so we must move
on to the next very hard thing
with integrity, giving out grace,
leaning on mercy, standing
firm upon the love
that carries everything;
“We do this by keeping
our eyes on Jesus,
the champion who initiates
and perfects our faith.
Because of the joy awaiting
Him, He endured the cross,
disregarding its shame.
Now He is seated in the place
of honor beside God’s throne.”
The Light of the world waiting
to bring us home.
