Await the Gentle Moon

Let me just sit — I don’t 

want to form a response

or tell you my thoughts;

it is well enough to just be

a quieted soul in peace,

but you are welcome 

to join me.  Let us sit

as the sun rests; there

is a ever-changing watercolor

horizon on view before us

as we await the moon to settle

over fence and trees,

and the only utterance

between us will be a shared

and contented sigh before

we turn in at the closing 

of this gentle-moon night.
