A Simple Prayer

“The real things haven’t changed. It is still best to be honest and truthful; to make the most of what we have; to be happy with simple pleasures; and have courage when things go wrong.” ― Laura Ingalls Wilder

A turn in the day

when for a moment

you stop the business,

and look up to the sky,

eyes spanning

the serene blue,

and stretch your neck,

skin-basking

in the vibrancy of sun,

and you remember

you are more

than the work that needs

doing, however

important, and you

connect with your soul

and say a simple

prayer of thanksgiving

and bask in a greater

sensation of this

glorious creation.
