You may think no one
will understand a pain
you carry, that deep
wound that overwhelms
and defines your being.
You may doubt that you
are worthy of real love,
and so deny yourself
any compassionate
understanding.
You may cry out
in the shadow-silence
of your soul and wonder
if God knows the anguish
this world has you carry.
You may believe mercy
will not be extended
this one more time
when you ache so much
to receive it…
Oh, friend, be still
and know His grace,
an enduring love, overcomes
the dark-shadowed night
and can never be defeated.

As wounds cry out for a soothing balm
As troubled mind longs to understand
When sadness settles and will not leave
When peace remains elusive still
That faithful Wind then stirs the soul and stays
Though the shamed and rejected heart cannot lift its countenance
By the breath of the Wind it gets drawn into
By His movement within a hope begins to form
Night watches stand witness
To the tears and fears being gathered
As prayers of a faithful friend are uttered
And the steadfast canopy of grace remain
Night hath its songs and that faithful Wind sings them
Melodious messages for the heart to listen to once more

Such profound and deep thoughts. Thank you for sharing. The “steadfast canopy of grace” is His most comforting gift.
