Dawn

I write in purple ink,

lean into the lavender

and lilac hues of blooms,

linger in the violet and

orchid sounds that resonate

in the deep vibrations of the cello,

dream of fields of thistle

and heather, live in moods

of mauve and periwinkle,

long to paint my home

with the dust of amethysts,

allow the sunlight to reflect

off the iridescent gems and fill

my home with the welcoming

light of dawn.
