“Do you know what I think Mayflowers are, Marilla? I think they must be the souls of the flowers that died last summer, and this is their heaven.”
― L.M. Montgomery, Anne of Green Gables

A mighty peace
I carry, images
stitched together
one memory
at a time,
calm places
I go to when
everything is storm
and frenzy….I just
close my eyes
and every
mountainside,
river, tree, stone path,
rosebud, field full
of flowers, and all
the lovely,
living creatures —
all is there inside;
no worldly trial
can take away
the beautiful
ruminations
of my mind.
