The sky was calling
me to bask outside,
to feel the solar rays
and the easy breeze
of an uncharacteristically
cool June day — and those
swirling clouds slowly
changing shape reminded
me of the glorious ways
of childhood summers,
dreamy days, rock collecting,
daisy-bouquet making,
bluejay chasing days
when it seemed I had all
the time in the world
to do everything
and nothing.
