A tree whispered
as I passed by
reminding me
of his cool, green
shade, the far-
reaching branches,
that filter our air,
the canopy
that provides
shelter for bird
and squirrel
and ant,
the roots
that connect
to the next
living ecosystem,
and finally
I Thought to say
Thank you,
so I sat underneath
his protective
limbs and praised
the One who made him.
