The Rose

A profusion of pink roses bending ragged in the rain –speaks to me of all gentleness and its enduring.

– William Carlos Williams

The rose holds

ribboned metaphor,

sharpened imagery,

hued simile,

as a bud or in full

bloom, summer peach,

wild crimson, or rush

of blushing pink,

a rose, just as a rose is…

is poetry.
