Let my words fall like rain on tender grass, like gentle showers on young plants. I will proclaim the name of the Lord; how glorious is our God! —Deuteronomy 32:2-3
A calming bower
rains down petal
drops, weaving
a soft carpet,
this tree weeping
as our earth aches
for replenishing showers,
its roots searching
the parched soil;
I pray for a quenching
waves of mercy,
to never forget
the blessings
of sweet rain,
or deny the One
who breaks the sky
wide open.
