Opened books for the week of April 19th.
Scripture:
This week I am in the book of Ephesians: “God has now revealed to us his mysterious will regarding Christ—which is to fulfill his own good plan.”
–Ephesians 1:9, NLT.
Christian Living:
Battle Ready, by Kelly Balarie: This is an interactive study on keeping sound thoughts and living victoriously in faith. I really enjoy the format of this book. I read a few pages, chew on the content, and then apply it to my own life. If you are looking for something engaging and in a workbook format, I highly recommend this one.
Poetry:
Make a List, by Marilyn McEntyre: While this is not a traditional book on writing poetry, it is a book about writing lists, and that creative outlet often leads to poetry for me. If you love making lists, I would suggest you give this book a try.
Art/ Literature:
refractions, by Makoto Fujimura: Fujimura is a Christian artist who specializes in Nihonga, or Japanese-style painting. This book is a series of essays exploring, as the subtitle suggests, “a journey of faith, art, and culture.”
