How much forgiveness does God extend?
I’ve wrestled a lifetime with my own
murmurs and grumbles, my selfishness
and ego, my failures and stubbornness,
and I often wake in the dark hours
uncertain, for the slightest moment,
as I shake off the cloak of some choking
dream, some retelling of my doubts
and misgivings, and then He is there
with forgiveness, and He covers me
entirely with peace.
