Contemplating a change,
waiting on the shift,
to break the heat
and release late
summer’s final breath
as sweet autumn
refreshes us again.
Soon we will begin
the slower pace
of cool mornings,
layer ourselves in cozy,
linger near evening fires
and allow ourselves to dream
of snow angels and Christmas.
