Delicate Wings

“Nature was one of the key forces that brought me back to God, for I wanted to know the Artist responsible for beauty… such as in the intricate designs on a butterfly wing.” – Philip Yancey

Like a wisp of paper,

these wings allow light

to breathe through

and lift this creature

to sky, to seek nectar,

to ride the wilding

wind, to set aloft

a dream— a hope

that is as delicate

as it is strong—

just as life carries

us, not adrift

but in a current

of what is eternal,

a promise of His

faithful love.
